I have a lovely non-traditional Christmas Poinsettia to share with you today. Although I really do the traditional red and green for Christmas, I have lately been doing non-traditional colors. I love this because I can change the sentiment out and use it for a winter Birthday!!! The dies I am using in today’s project are the Poinsettia Dies from our Annual Catalog along with Poinsettia Petals Stamp Set for the Sentiment.

PROJECT MEASUREMENTS/INSTRUCTIONS:
- Card Base: Blushing Bride 4 1/4″x 11″ Scored at 51/2″ or in half
- Vellum 2 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ Embossed in Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing folder.
- Die Cut Poinsettia Petals (See Die Cutting Tip in the image below)
- Use Dauber and Blushing Bride ink to sponge edges to give your project a little pizazz
- Sprigs Die cut in Pear Pizazz
- Use Glue dots to layer petals and Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach sprigs and to give our petals dimension.
- Stamp Merry Christmas Sentiment on Basic White Cardstock in Pear Pizazz ink.
- Added 3 Basic Pearls to the center of Poinsettia Flower
- Fussy Cut around sentiment

Stay tuned for another project in August to see a bonus project using the New Whimsy and Wonderful Designer Paper in the new August-December Mini Catalog. In the meantime enjoy hopping along with my other talented crafting friends in this Christmas In July Blog Hop.

I could not remember ever loving a card technique as much as I have loved this one. When I saw my friend Patty Bennett do the Alcohol Ink on vellum I knew it would soon become an addiction. Boy was I right!!!! I immediately realized I had to spend the afternoon creating with Patty.

I made these backgrounds by scribbling several Stampin’ Blends markers on a piece of vellum paper, spritz alcohol with a sprayer I had lying around, and then tapping a paintbrush with alcohol on the surface. I’m not kidding! I scribbled and tapped, and this background appeared within a matter of minutes.

PROJECT MEASUREMENTS DIES USED:
As you can see, this blending technique makes beautiful results with minimal effort! Your cards and other paper projects will have a completely unique background, as it is impossible to achieve the same result twice.

After creating for the afternoon, we soon realized how fun it would be to take this technique up a notch!!! We had to see if embossed images would be just as amazing and boy did it not disappoint!!!

Using the Pearlescent Specialty Paper and the SeaShells 3D Embossing Folder, this created an incredible addition to my project.
Blends Used: Light Calypso Coral, Just Jade, Soft Succulent dark and light, Light and Dark Misty Moonlight.

Magnolia 3D Embossing Folder
Blends Used: Dark Balmy Blue for Background, Dark and Light Highland Heather, Light Rich Razzleberry, Dark Daffodil Delight,
Dark Petal Pink, Dark Flirty Flamingo

The Piece Patty Called van Gogh.
Embossing folder from Art in Bloom Bundle
Blends Used: Light and Dark Hightland Heather, Dark and Light Just Jade, Dark Bermuda Bay, Dark Daffodil Delight, Dark Flirty Flamingo
Be sure to visit my dear friend Patty Bennett’s Page HERE so you can see her amazing color combos and projects.
Thank you for joining me today, be sure to like and visit my Cards By TLC Facebook Page for my very first LIVE Wednesday, June 30th at 4pm PT. I will be showcasing some additional embossing folders. I told you I was addicted to this technique.

This weekend I participated in my first craft fair of the season and it was held at one of the Veteran’s Hall in our area. I thought it would be fun to create a cute Patriotic Thank You Candy Box. The Stitched Stars Dies made a cute window for this adorable treat box.

PROJECT MEASUREMENTS AND INSTRUCTIONS:
- Real Red Base for Box cut at 6 1/2″ x 10 1/2″
- Score along the 10 1/2″ Side at 1/2″, 2″, 5 1/2″, 7″
- Score along the 6 1/2″ Side at 1 1/2″ and 5″
- With the 1/2″ side facing down (6 1/2″ Side) cut up to the 2″ score line on both sides
- Remove both corners from bottom up to about 1 1/2″ leaving about 1/2″
- Still with the box in Portrait Mode, cut at the 5 1/2″ Line and 7″ line to create flaps. Be sure to cut a little extra off each side (SEE PHOTO BELOW) so the flaps close more evenly.
- Flip over box with Large Square towards top
- Adhere (3) 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ Basic White Strips to top of Box
- Place 3rd Largest Star (3″) from Stitched Stars Dies in the middle
- PRO TIP: KEEP DIE-CUT STAR FOR TAG OR ANOTHER CARD
- Cut a 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ Window Sheet and adhere to the back
- Use Tear Tape or Stampin Seal Plus for the best results for adhesive. Adhere two side panels where your star is located and two inside Flap pieces.
- To Finish off your box I Embossed sentiment in white embossing powder on Night of Navy Cardstock.

Be sure to hop along with my other creative friends.

“I love you to the Moon and Back” is what you always said to me every single day of my life. When looking through the Annual catalog and saw the To The Moon stamp set, naturally I could not help but do this special tribute in honor of you on what would have been your 80th Birthday. Please enjoy this special tribute to my wonderful late father Frederick (Fred) Franklin Civello.

He always loved the simple things in life, so I decided to keep this project in the “Simple Stamping” Category.
- I started out by using our amazing Blending Brushes to create the Night Background. The color combo used was Misty Moonlight, Balmy Blue, and Fresh Freesia.
- Stamping the Large Moon Image, Adding the stars in Daffodil Delight, and finishing it out with Basic Rhinestones.
- Card Base Daffodil Delight 4 1/4″ x 11″ Scored at 5 1/2″ or folded in half
- Layer 1 Daffodil Delight 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Basic White 3 3/4″ x 5″
My Father was ONE OF A KIND. He was kind, patient, and one of the most hardworking men I knew. He was always encouraging me to be my best and supporting me in the things that I was most passionate about.
When I was creating my new Craft Studio, I made sure to honor him. Anytime I can find something with his “I love you to the Moon and Back” I make sure I find a special place for it.
Having two older brothers and being the only girl, truly made the bond between him and me more special. I will forever be your “Bouncing Baby Girl”. Happy Birthday, Daddy. I love you to the Moon and Back.

I hope you enjoyed today’s special tribute and “Simple Stamping” project.
Until Next time, Happy Crafting!!
