Simple Card Sketch with Floral Impressions

This week on Template Thursday with Tammy I am doing a Simple Card Sketch with Floral Impressions Designer Paper.  I found a new set of sketches from Paper Play Sketches and it was perfect for this Simple Card Sketch with the Floral Impressions Designer Paper.  With August 1st being tomorrow, it always reminds me of Yellow and Sunflowers.  So of course I thought this Template was perfect.

During my video, I briefly mentioned the Ink Swiping Technique—one of my favorite ways to add a vibrant, artistic flair to your cards! While I gave you a quick peek at how it works, I wanted to let you know that I have a full, step-by-step video where I dive deeper into the technique. In that video I walk you through how to layer your ink colors, and show just how quick and easy it is to achieve that beautiful swiped background effect.  You can check out the full video right here!

The Spooky Sweet 12″ x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) Specialty Designer Series Paper includes patterned paper, precut images, and cut-apart scenes and elements. It’s perfect for creating tags and gift packaging for Halloween goodies, accents for scrapbooks, or other spooky-cute paper crafts.

Turn a Scrapbook Layout into a Card

This week on Template Thursday with Tammy, learn how I turn a scrapbook layout into a card.  This template was a fun way to turn a scrapbook layout into a card by using the scrapbook layouts on page 28  in the Annual Catalog.

I used the 4th Sketch from the top row.

I rotated the orientation for my interpretation of this sketch for a fun card.

Jumbo Tags

Today I created Jumbo Tags for the very first time on Episode 3 of Template Thursday with Tammy.  I decided to pull Sketch 4 from the 2025-2026 Annual Catalog to create my Jumbo Tags.  1 Sketch, 2 ways.  With this sketch it is perfect to do the same sketch but just make one simple change with the orientation.

Two decorative handmade birthday tags on a gray background, featuring pastel cake illustrations, floral accents, and messages like “Blow out the candles!” and “Bestie.” Both tags have pink borders and ribbon ties.

PROJECT VIDEO:  If you are receiving this in email, please catch the Video HERE

I was inspired by my dear friend Tracy Travis, from Stampin Queen Bee on YouTube, and she also did this sketch and came up with the perfect Template Sizing. The Designer Paper that I am using, is from the Wildflower Birthday Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack which is perfect to make this adorable jumbo tag.

Dimensions:
  • Main Tag Pretty in Pink 3 1/2″ x 6″
  • 2nd Layer Designer Paper and Basic White Layer for the Back 3 1/4″ x 5 3/4″

The sketches can be found on page 24 in the Annual Catalog and if you turn to page 28, you will find 8 more sketch ideas showcasing scrapbook layouts. This sketch is the original orientation.

A pink gift tag with a gold ribbon features a layered cake on a stand, decorated with flowers and the word Bestie. The background has a subtle script pattern and Tammy Civello CardsByLLC.com is printed at the bottom.

Flip it over and add a Basic White Layer to add an additional sentiment and your message.

A handmade gift tag with pink edges and HAPPY BIRTHDAY written in blue on a white center, tied with sheer gold and silver ribbon, placed on a textured gray surface.

Just by turning the orientation you can get another fun look.

A handmade birthday gift tag with pastel cake designs, a pink ribbon, and gold mesh. The tag reads BLOW OUT THE CANDLES! and HAPPY BIRTHDAY with a pink cake illustration and a small blue flower.
