Wildly Flowering Fun Fold

Today on Teach It Tuesday, we are doing a Wildly Flowering Fun Fold.  It’s all about the Designer Paper today, and I wanted to showcase the Wildly Flowering Designer Paper.  I absolutely love love love this paper and was excited to see it on this month’s 15% off List.  This 12×12 double sided pattern paper features the following Stampin’ Up! I absolutely love a good am simple Fun Fold.  I was inspired by fellow demonstrator Connie Stewart with this Fold and absolutely fell in love with the simplicity of it and how it showcases designer paper.  You only need a 6×6 piece of designer paper, and the rest of the sizes are listed below.

Project Sizes and Dimensions :
  • 6×6 Designer Paper of your Choice ( I used Wildly Flowering)
  • Back Panel 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Card Insert Piece of Misty Moonlight 3 1/4″ x 10 1/2″ scored at 5 1/4″
  • Optional Piece of Basic White if our Designer Paper is too dark to write your message 2 3/4x 4 3/4″
  • Front Panel of Misty Moonlight 2 1/4″ x 3 5/8″
  • Basic White Front Focal Panel 2″ x 3 1/2″
  • For the Sentiment Piece I used 1 3/8″ x 3″ This is an optional step.

Be sure to watch the video how I cut my 6×6 piece of designer paper.

I stamped the inside panel in Boho Blue to give it a tone on tone look

Sentiment stamped in Boho Blue, but this panel is optional as my inside piece of designer paper is dark.

Fun Color Challenge Card

In yesterday’s Teach it Tuesday we made a Fun Color Challenge Card using the Sketched Butterflies Bundle from Stampin’ Up! This super Fun Color Challenge Card was very challenging at first for me, but once I started playing around I knew I would have fun with it.

The colors we chose are colors that were very fun and challenging to me.  Since we are gearing up towards the end of Summer, we wanted to showcase colors that were bright and bold. Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, and Lemon Lime Twist.

Instead of color my butterflies, i blended a fun background together in Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight, stamped in Memento Black Ink, and die cut out the butterflies.  I absolutely love blending colors together, it is one of my favorite things to do.  I honestly can spend hours ink blending.

Super Simple One Sheet Wonder

Today we created 3 cards with this Super Simple One Sheet Wonder.  If you are not familiar with One Sheet Wonders, it is a great way to explore using just your Designer Paper and cutting it up into multiple pieces using either a 12×12 or a 6×6 sheet.  Today’s projects I cut down a 12×12 Sheet of Mediterranean Blooms to a 6×6 to keep things simple.

PROJECT VIDEO:  If you are receiving this in email, please catch the Video HERE

So typically I do the sizes for each card, but I thought it would be easier to do the Sizes for the Card Bases and then the cutting dimensions on the 6×6 paper.

Card Base Sizes and Dimensions :
  • Card 1 Night of Navy Card Base 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4
  • Card 2 Night of Navy Cad Base 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ – Cut 1″ off Top Keep this piece for project #3, you will be heat embossing your sentiment
  • Card 3 Thick Basic White 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 1 1/4″ and 4 1/4″

Basic White Panel Dimensions :
  • (2) 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • (1) 3″ x 5 1/4″
  • (1) 3 1/2″ x 5 1/4″

Mediterranean Blooms DSP Cutting Dimensions :  Cut down to 6×6 from original 12 x 12
  • If your paper is directional you will want to cut 1/2″ from either the top or bottom
  • Rotate along 6″ side cut (3) 2″ Strips
  • Take 2 of the 2″ strips and cut down to 5 1/4″

I chose 2 Sentimental Stamp sets to work with today, Simply Said and the Online Exclusive Sweetly Scripted.
