Simple Card Sketch with Floral Impressions

This week on Template Thursday with Tammy I am doing a Simple Card Sketch with Floral Impressions Designer Paper.  I found a new set of sketches from Paper Play Sketches and it was perfect for this Simple Card Sketch with the Floral Impressions Designer Paper.  With August 1st being tomorrow, it always reminds me of Yellow and Sunflowers.  So of course I thought this Template was perfect.

During my video, I briefly mentioned the Ink Swiping Technique—one of my favorite ways to add a vibrant, artistic flair to your cards! While I gave you a quick peek at how it works, I wanted to let you know that I have a full, step-by-step video where I dive deeper into the technique. In that video I walk you through how to layer your ink colors, and show just how quick and easy it is to achieve that beautiful swiped background effect.  You can check out the full video right here!

Ink Swipe Technique.

On my YouTube Live yesterday, I shared the Ink Swipe Technique with 3D Embossing Folders.  Although I showed the Ink Swipe Technique on both the Happy Hibiscus 3D Embossing Folder and the upcoming brand new Online Exclusive Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder (Avail to purchase on July 1m 2025), the Sunflower was clearly my favorite and the most addicting!!  I have cut these panel to a 4″ x 5 1/4″ size.  Since the Sunflower Embossing folder is a larger folder you can fit 2 panels and emboss them both at once.

Using your favorite Designer Paper can be a game changer for a different look.

I had so much fun coming up with the different color combos.  It was so hard to narrow down my top 4 cards, but I think these are my top 4 favorites.

I have mentioned my card candy bowl in many video, but since this technique was so addicting and fun, I have decided to create a “Card Candy Box” to go with my “Card Candy Bowl”.  This technique is perfect to create a bunch of card fronts to have on hand and then add your sentiment for when you need that last minute Birthday Card, Friendship Card, Sympathy, Thinking of You, whatever the occasion might be.  It is always so fun to get a hand made card in the mail.

I want to thank my dear friend Patty Bennett for the most fun and addicting technique, I have done in a long time.  Be sure to check our here replay and amazing projects HERE  If you love this embossing folder as much as I do, I would highly recommend ordering it as soon as you can.  I have a feeling this is going to be a super popular folder.   I will be posting different color combos over the next several months, so be sure to subscribe to my blog and free newsletter, as I will be sharing my favorite’s. Let me know what your favorite color combo you would try is
